Knorr part II

Knorr part II..

Well talk about a difference…I had a coupon for one more free Knorr trail and got the Chicken Alfreado and decided to use the pan cooking method. It was way better and still only took 10 minutes.

My hubby said the pasta was very nice. not mushy or doughy like some frozen pasta can be..it was truly “Al Dente” and we are planning to buy more in the future.

The only think I would change right now is the pricing, it’s a bit dear at 8.99 for a package but then it does serve to adults and when you think of how much a couple of take out burgers and fries cost and it is very good if done in the pan, then its very reasonable. It’s just hard to grasp that concept when you’re shopping at the grocery store.

So if you all get a chance to try it please let me know with a comment as to whether you like it or not and why.

You can leave a comment on this bog.

The Bzzz on Knorr

The Bzzz on Knorr

Well I received a coupon, actually two for free full size trail of the new Knorr Frozen meals.  We, my hubby and I picked the Spinach and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli and the Grill Chicken Alfredo.

We started with the Ravioli first and maybe I over nuked it. He didn’t like the sauce, too thin and too many tomatoes pieces; mind you he doesn’t like tomatoes. He does like tomato sauce or soup or ketchup but not pieces.  Me I’m not a bit fan of Ricotta but I love spinach.

First I will give them that yes there is truly enough for two adults to eat, easy to make, though next time I may try the alternate way of making it instead of the Microwave.

Second, it was on a scale of 1 to 10 a 5 for taste but again that may be because I might have over nuked it.

Third wow the price is way high 8.99 CAD per pack, now it does feed two adults a good portion but without the free coupon or the 2.00 off I might not ever have tried it.

So I will keep you posted on when we try the second one, maybe the Alfredo cooked in the skillet might be better.

Part II of Anybody

Part II of  “Anybody Out There? By Marian Keyes

Wow what a great read….I highly recommed this book. It is at once hialaroius, serious and heart warming. I think I have found another wonderful Arthour to read.  Its like when I found Mave Binchy and just had to read every thing she ever wrote, same with Marian Keys.

I hope everyone will either buy or go to their public Libarary and give this book a good.

Next review is the New Knorr Frozen foods…stay turned for more in the Bzzz world

Bzzzz Agent 1shadow1

Bzzzz Agent 1shadow1 here to report on a wonderful book I have been given to read…the titled Anybody Out There? By Marian Keyes

It’s a touching story of a woman coming to grips with life after the death of her husband. It’s at once humorous and serious and happy and sad and brave.

You first get to meet her family in Ireland at the start of the book to see the kooky family she comes from. Then you journey with her on her way back to the top of life from the bottom of it.

She reminds me a lot of Mave Binchy..Another great author, whose books though fiction are a lot more “true to life” than some fiction. Not every thing is happily ever after..

I am half way though the book and can tell you its hard for me to put it down, I keep saying one more chapters knowing I have to get up in the morning.

I will keep you posted on what I think of the whole book when I am finished.

By the way joining Bzzz is fun because you get to try out new books or items before they hit the public or just as they are hitting the public

Been working full time

Well long time no blog. Been working full time the past couple of months but that is about to end for a bit. Going back to part time hours for the summer.

I guess that is good. I have been chanting for full time but also wanted to not work as much in the summer and surprise the chanting worked. I guess there is something to this SGI.

Other wise life has been pretty quite. Getting ready to start the summer planting season...hikes in the woods, kayaking on the lakes, reading on the swing in the back yard, working in the garden.God Iove summer.

I hope we all have a great summer and that the weekends are dry even if the week days it rains.

Temp agencies suck

Temp agencies should have some kind of rules and regulations.

  • First we will not lie to our clients, whether they are answering one of our ads or hiring staff.

  • Second we will not lie in our ads in the paper or on line. We will not say oh there is this amazing job and it pays so well, with great benefits and hours when in fact there is no such job.

  • Third we will not have someone spend gas and time coming in to do another “skills test” of which they have now done hundreds and waste every ones time.

  • Fourth we will not promise to send said skills test by email and never send it nor even have the courtesy of replying to second email of person wondering where this test is

  • Fifth we will not just have people in for no reason to put more bodies in our stable of workers and give them false hope.

  • Sixth we will not call some and tell them we have a great job for them and when we call back find out no one wants to take your call because they already found a body.  Why leave the freaking message to call you back.

  • Seventh there should be a board to give these jerks a code of ethics, even if they say they have one they don’t use them. Case in point a friend whose friend works for an agency (I will swear to this as I know the name of the agency worker she mentioned so it wasn’t a made up story)  admitted to her that most of the time there are no such jobs as are listed on the web sites or newspapers. They just need bodies and that even agencies are having a hard time finding jobs for people thought they won’t admit it.

  • Stop giving out false hope. There are a lot of people who think your ads are real and you are wasting their value able time. And do not insult them by saying oh yes we will defiantly keep in contact and we can’t find you when we try to see how it’s going.

  • Stop lying, stop ignoring us, stop using sites like HRDC, (Human Resources Development Canada) to place ads…you are using tax payers money..and some of unemployed people’s money, to put ads for these jobs that don’t exist.

  • Don’t use Monster or Workopolis or any other job site to lie to people.

  • Just stop lying. Unemployed people are vulnerable and you do not help.

  • Clean up your act, start behaving morally and with some kind of ethics.

The Paralympics

The Paralympics

Well I have found something to Blog about finally… the Paralympics now there are true Olympians, real amateurs who are in the sport for the love of the sport and not for money or fame. thought I think they truly deserve both.  And pray tell why they are not covered on the evening news or sports cast.  For days we had to put up with professional hockey players losing and other stories from Turnio but nothing much about the Paralympics.  Why?  Some days there are little once inch columns in the sport section but otherwise it’s pretty quiet.

These are great athletics that train and give up personal time to do their personal best. They rise above the odds that the average Olympian will never live though…to me they all deserve gold and more coverage and yes even those cereal endorsements. Why it is unless you are Armstrong doing the Tour de France or Christoper Reeve a movie star and have an illness or disablities no one pays attention to the real heroes in our mist?  Not that Christopher Reeve wasn't a hero, he was a very very brave man but please let’s also remember the real people who rise above challenges that would put most of us under out beds every day, and then also participate in the Olympics. Let’s give them their due. Let’s treat then with the same fanfare that all Olympic athletes deserve…and give them their days in the sun.
